Although the colder temperatures are upon us, we wanted to share some memories from our Grow Kids and Kinship Garden Gala.
The annual event was held in July at the Horticulture Gardens.
The Stevens County Pork Producers grilled pork chops (the highlight of the meal!) along with beans, chips, and water. Several activities were available including the National Guard’s rock climbing wall, Kindness Katie (growing “Kindness” in Stevens County one rock at a time), face painting, DPIL book reading by local celebrities, and THE highlight of the event, the water fight between our local law enforcement agencies (Stevens County Sheriff’s Dept, MN State Trooper, and UMM Security were all represented) and the kids of Stevens County.
We are still not sure who had more fun, but the smiles, laughs, and high fives were a delight to see and hear.
